CITIZENSHIP BY INVESTMENT – GRENADA

Citizenship by Investment programme can be achieved through:

  1. The National Transformation Fund (NTF) – non-refundable contribution of around US dollars 150,000 to Government of Grenada plus Government fees, Due Diligence fees, Processing fees and Legal fees, or
  2. Investing in Real Estate hospitality projects approved by the Government of Grenada. The real estate investments start from around US Dollars 220,000 plus Government fees, Due Diligence fees, Processing fees and Legal fees.

GRENADA

  1. Grenada is a sovereign state in the West Indies with an estimated population of around 120,000 people.
  2. The capital of Grenada is St. George’s and it is a very politically stable island. English is the official language.
  3. The climate is tropical which means that it is hot and humid in the dry season and cooled by the moderate rainfall in the wet season.
  4. Grenada is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations and a full member of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States
  1. Tourism is the major foreign exchange earner for Grenada and Grenada’s main airport is Maurice Bishop International Airport with scheduled flights from New York, Miami, Atlanta, Toronto, London, Frankfurt and a number of Caribbean Countries. The Airport also offers fixed-based operator services for Private Jets.
  1. Grenada boasts of world-class tertiary education and is well known around the world for their George’s University which is highly ranked for Medicine, listed with the World Health Organisation and is the No. 1 provider into first-year US medical residencies and the 2nd largest source of doctors for the entire US workforce.

The benefits of obtaining a second passport are:

  1. Visa-free travel to over 130 countries including UK, Ireland, Schengen areas, China, Russia, UAE and others
  2. Right to live and work in another country- Grenada is the only Caribbean country whose citizens can apply for the US-E2 Visa. This Visa grants them residency in the US, with the spouse being able to live and work while children enjoy academic school fees as home students.
  3. Security for personal or business purposes. Holders of second passports have the security of relocating to another country in the event of war, unrest or to establish businesses.
  4. Transfer of citizenship to future generations. Once citizenship is obtained it may be passed from one generation to another based on prevailing Immigration Laws.
  5. Return on investments. Investments in real estate can be sold after 5 years of investment to another eligible citizenship investor.
  6. Opportunity for businesses to break into the CARICOM regional market and take advantage of free movement of goods, services and exemptions on tariffs/ duties.

INFORMATION ON GRENADA CITIZENSHIP BY INVESTMENT

Grenada citizen by investment programme is highly sought after for the following reasons:

  1. With around US$220,000, an investor may be granted citizenship of Grenada and can include spouse, children, parents and unmarried siblings in the same application under the real estate investment programme.
  2. The application for citizenship is processed swiftly, usually within 6 months from the date of receipt of the application.
  3. Government citizenship fee is the lowest among the other Caribbean countries
  4. There is no visit or residence requirement. The investor is not required to visit Grenada or reside in Grenada before applying for citizenship.
  5. Five (5) years of the investment holding period. The real estate investment can be resold to another investor for citizenship after 5 years and the investor enjoys the return on their investment.
  6. Visa-free access to more than 130 countries including UK, Ireland, Schengen areas, Russia, China and most importantly, access to the USA E-2 Visa
  7. Dual citizenship of a politically stable, peaceful, with internationally recognised and accredited university for Medicine and a very progressive country
  8. There are no interview, language or residency requirements to obtain citizenship
  9. International Businessmen can enjoy the benefits of free movement of goods and services and exemptions on customs duties within the Caribbean countries as Grenada is a member of CARICOM.

USA E-2 VISA PROGRAMME

  1. Grenada is the only Caribbean country with a bilateral investment treaty (US E-2 Visas) with the United States of America.
  2. US E-2 Visas can generally be obtained within 3 months of application unlike the EB-5 visa which takes around 4-15 years
  3. More US E-2 Visa granted than the EB5 Visa- in 2018, around 10,000 EB-5 Visas were granted while 40,000 E-2 Visas were granted in 2018.
  4. US E-2 Visa can be applied from any US Embassy/ Consulates around the world
  5. US E-2 Visa is valid for 5 years with unlimited number of renewals/ extensions
  6. The limited investment value is USD150,000 and the investor can set up a new business in any part of the USA, or can partner with an existing business or invest in a franchise business
  7. Investor’s spouse and dependent children under 21 years old may be included in the application
  8. Investor’s spouse can apply to work anywhere and in any sector in the USA
  9. Investor’s children can enjoy free high school education in the USA and home tuition rates apply in-state college institutions
  10. Investor and his dependents may spend time in the USA without being subject to worldwide income taxation if spending less than 122 days a year in the USA
  11. USA E-2 Visa may be converted to USA EB-5 visa (Permanent Residency) over the course of time.
